Heuristics Australia Pty Ltd was established in 1997 by Dr John Ypsilantis.

Dr Ypsilantis is one of the early researchers in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications to power system supervision. His work on conventional machine learning applications in supervisory control and data acquisition for power systems is amongst the first of its kind.

Heuristics Australia has continued this  research. It has culminated in the commercialisation of two base technologies:

• the Sequence Graph Algorithm and
• a Distributed Real Time Heuristic Optimiser

These base technologies find application across a wide range of utilities operations.

Heuristics Australia also provides engineering design, audit, project management and advisory in all areas of SCADA, process control, instrumentation, communications and electrical engineering.

With a history of nearly three decades, Heuristics Australia continues to offer unique machine learning and artificial intelligence systems and services to the utilities industry.
